World Crude Steel Output Stable in Oct’19

As per the data released by the World Steel Association (WSA), total steel production of 64 steel manufacturing nations stood at 151.621 MnT in Oct’19, remain consistent on a monthly basis as against 151.108 MnT in Sep’19.

On a yearly premise, the same inched down by 3% in Oct’19, which was 155.833 MnT in Oct’18.

During the first ten months (Jan-Oct) of CY’19, world crude steel production aggregated to 1,541.771 MnT, inched up by 3% as compared with 1,494.234 MnT in similar time frame of CY’18.

SteelMint has analyzed the world’s crude steel production numbers of prominent steel-producing countries-

China’s crude steel output fell by 2% M-o-M in Oct’19- China’s crude steel production slipped by 2% to 81.521 MnT in Oct’19 as compared with 82.773 MnT in the previous month.

However, on a yearly premise, inched down by 1% in Oct’19 as against 82.041 MnT in Oct’18.

During the first ten months (Jan-Oct) of CY’19, the nation’s crude steel output stood at 829.215 MnT, ascended by 7% in comparison with 771.781 MnT in corresponding months of CY’18.

India’s crude steel output up by 2% M-o-M in Oct’19- India’s crude steel output inched up by 2% in Oct’19 to 9.089 MnT as compared to 8.929 MnT a month ago.

However, the same fell marginally by 3% in Oct’19 in comparison with 9.408 MnT in Oct’18.

During the first ten months (Jan-Oct) of CY’19, the nation’s aggregated crude steel output stood at 93.306 MnT, up by 3% as compared to 90.724 MnT in similar time frame of CY’18.

Japan’s crude steel output up by 1% M-o-M in Oct’19- Inching up by 1% in Oct’19, Japan’s crude steel output stood at 8.157 MnT as compared with 8.04 MnT in the previous month.

However, on a yearly premise, it declined by 5% in Oct’19 over 8.578 MnT in Oct’18.

During the first ten months (Jan-Oct) of CY’19, the nation’s aggregated crude steel production stood at 83.791 MnT, marginally down by 4% in comparison with 87.197 MnT in corresponding months of CY’18.

United States crude steel output ascends by 6% M-o-M in Oct’19- United State’s crude steel output scaled up by 6% to 7.407 MnT in Oct’19, as against 7.004 MnT a month ago.

However, the same inched down by 2%, Y-o-Y in Oct’19, in comparison to 7.557 Mnt in Oct’18.

During the first ten months (Jan-Oct) CY’19, the nation churned out 73.539 MnT of crude steel, up by 3% as compared to 71.731 MnT in Jan-Oct CY’19.

Crude steel production of other top steel-producing nations in Oct’19 is as follows: Russia- 5.95 MnT, South Korea- 5.983 MnT, Germany- 3.465 MnT, Turkey- 2.687 MnT, Brazil- 2.597 MnT, and Iran- 2.20 MnT.
