Iran: Major Mills Report 8% Y-o-Y Increase in Steel Exports

Iranian steel majors’ exports were recorded at 4.04 MnT during the first seven months of Persian year (March 21 – Oct, 22) to register a Y-o-Y growth of 8%.

With a total of 1.08 million tons of exports during the first seven Iranian months (March 21 – Oct, 22) and 82,296 MT in the seventh month (Sept 23 – Oct 22), Khouzestan Steel Company booked itself as the Iran’s largest steel exporter during the period under review.

According to latest data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, the mill experienced a Y-o-Y decline of 19% in exports during the seven months and 42% in the seventh month.

Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC), located in Isfahan, was the second largest exporter as it shipped out 885,397 MT during the seven months under review, up 23% compared with last year’s corresponding period. During the seventh month of the current Iranian year, MSC exported 132,512 MT abroad, to register a Y-o-Y growth of 145%.

Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) registered itself as the third largest exporter. The company’s exports were recorded at 681,868 MT during the seven months, up 12% Y-o-Y. During the seventh month, ESCO exported 114,653 MT to register a Y-o-Y growth of 193%.
