According to vessel line up data maintained with SteelMint, State-owned, KIOCL is to import iron ore from Canada. According to sources, KIOCL has concluded around 100,000 MT iron ore fines (Fe 65%) from Canada recently via global iron ore fines purchase tender floated. However the concluded price and delivery schedule could not be confirmed at the time of publishing this report.
Company is also sourcing iron ore from NMDC (Chhattisgarh ) and some quantity from Karnataka e-auctions.
As per the sources, KIOCL is also going to open a pellet export and domestic tender for 50,000 MT each today.
State-owned pellet maker – KIOCL (Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd) recorded enhanced pellet production for the first quarter FY20. The production recorded at 0.61 MnT, above the set target of 0.49 MnT. The production marked 38% increase Y-o-Y as against Q1 FY’19 production at 0.44 MnT.
