As per recently released data by the World Steel Association (WSA) total crude steel production of 64 steel manufacturing countries remained largely stable on a monthly basis and stood at 156.038 MnT in Aug’19 as compared to 156.697 MnT in Jul’19.
Meanwhile on a yearly premise world steel output increased by 3% in Aug’19 in comparison to 150.855 MnT in Aug’18.
However, in the first eight months of (Jan-Aug) CY’19 world steel output stood at 1,240.286 MnT; registering an increase of 4% against 1,187.772 MnT in a similar time frame of the previous year.
SteelMint has analyzed the world’s crude steel production numbers of major steel-producing countries-
China’s crude steel output inched up by 2% M-o-M in Aug’19- China crude steel output moved up by 2% to 87.251 MnT in Aug’19 against 85.223 MnT in Jul’19.
However on a yearly premise, the same witnessed increase by 9% in Aug’19 in comparison to 79.834 MnT in Aug’18.
In the first eight months (Jan-Aug) of CY’19 nation’s crude steel output rose by 9% to 664.869 MnT which was 609.362 MnT in Jan-Aug’18.
India’s crude steel output rises marginally by 2% M-o-M in Aug’19- As per WSA (World Steel Association), India’s crude steel output inched up by around 2% to 9.350 MnT in Aug’19 against 9.215 MnT in the preceding month.
However on a yearly basis, the same inched up by around 2% in Aug’19 against 9.208 MnT in Aug’18.
In the first eight months (Jan-Aug) of CY19 nation’s crude steel output marginally up by 4% to 75.697 MnT as against 72.497 MnT in Jan-Aug’18.
Japan’s crude steel output down by 3% M-o-M in Aug’19- Japan crude steel output stood at 8.116 MnT in Aug’19 fell by 3% M-o-M basis as compared to 8.387 MnT in the previous month.
However on a yearly basis, the same declined by 8% in Aug’19 in comparison to 8.806 MnT in Aug’18.
In the first eight months (Jan-Aug) of CY’19 nation’s crude steel output inched down by 4% to 67.589 MnT which was 70.193 MnT in a similar time frame of the previous year.
United States crude steel output remains stable M-o-M in Aug’19- USA crude steel output stood at 7.497 MnT in Aug’19 remained largely stable as against 7.514 MnT in the previous month.
On a yearly premise, the same remained largely stable in Aug’19 as compared to 7.477 MnT in Aug’18.
In the first eight months (Jan-Aug) of CY’19 nation’s crude steel output up by 4% at 59.229 MnT against 56.919 MnT in Jan-Aug’18.
Crude steel production of other top steel-producing countries in Aug’19 is as follows Russia: 5.900 MnT, South Korea: 5.941 MnT, Germany at 3.266 MnT, Turkey 2.634 MnT, Brazil: 2.524 MnT, and Iran is 2.200 MnT.
