South Korea Steel Export Statistics in May’19

South Korea billet exports surge twofold in May’19- South Korea’s Billet exports doubled to 0.04 MnT in May’19 in comparison to 0.02 MnT in Apr’19.

Whereas on yearly premise the same tumbled by 43% in May’19 as compared to 0.07 MnT in May’18.

During first five months (Jan-May) CY’19 nation’s billet exports decline significantly by 53% to 0.16 MnT which was 0.34 MnT in Jan-May CY’18.

Country-wise South Korea billet exports in May’19- South Korea’s exports to Japan increased to 0.02 MnT in May’19 as against 0.01 MnT in previous month.

Meanwhile nation’s billet exports to Indonesia and Thailand stood at 0.01 MnT each in May’19.

South Korea finish long exports up by 11% M-o-M in May’19- South Korea’s finish long exports increased by 11% to 0.21 MnT in May’19 in contrast with 0.19 MnT in Apr’19.

Whereas on yearly basis nation’s exports declined by 5% in May’19 over 0.22 MnT in May’18.

During first five months (Jan-May) CY’19 the same tumbled by 8% to 0.99 MnT as compared to 1.08 MnT in corresponding months of CY’18.

Country-wise South Korea finish long exports in May’19- South Korea majorly exports to Vietnam and accounted for 0.02 MnT in May’19, stable over previous month.

Following this nation’s exports to Japan remained stable M-o-M basis at 0.03 MnT in May’19.

Nation’s exports to Malaysia, Canada and Taiwan were witnessed at 0.02 MnT each in May’19.

Meanwhile South Korea also exported finish long steel to USA, India, Thailand and Mexico in smaller quantities in May’19.

South Korea flat steel exports inch up 2% M-o-M in May’19- Nation’s flat steel export for May’19 was recorded at 2.03 MnT marginal up by 2% as compared to 2 MnT in previous month.

South Korea has been actively exporting flat steel products to China, Japan and India amid weakening nation’s currency WON against USD. This led to competitive prices in overseas market which in turn resulted to surge in nation’s export volumes in May’19.

Whereas on yearly premise the same fell by 3% in May’19 in comparison with 2.1 MnT in May’18

During first five months (Jan-May) CY’19 nation’s exports accounted for 10.17 MnT; inching up by 1% as against 10.08 MnT in corresponding months of CY’18.

Country-wise South Korea flat steel exports in May’19- Nation’s exports to China witnessed a marginal decline by 3% to 0.29 MnT in May’19 which was 0.3 MnT in preceding month.

Following this nation’s finish flat exports to Japan increased by 8% M-o-M to 0.26 MnT as compared to 0.24 MnT a month earlier.

Nation’s exports to India registered an upsurge of 13% M-o-M and stood at 0.25 MnT as against 0.22 MnT in previous month.

Meanwhile South Korea also exported to USA at 0.17 MnT, Mexico at 0.18 MnT followed by Thailand at 0.14 MnT and Vietnam at 0.10 MnT in May’19.

South Korea ferro alloy exports stable M-o-M in May’19- Nation’s ferro alloys exports remained stable since four consecutive months at 0.02 MnT in the month of May’19.

On yearly premise export volume remain unchanged as compared to 0.02 MnT in May’18.

During first five months (Jan-May) CY’19 nations export volume witnessed at 0.08 MnT; remained stable over similar time frame of preceding year.

South Korea finish flat stainless steel exports in May’19- Nation’s stainless steel exports accounted for 0.1 MnT in May’19 fell by 9% over 0.11 MnT in preceding month, whereas on yearly premise the same declined by 29% over 0.14 MnT in May’18.

Country-wise South Korea finish flat stainless steel exports in May’19- South Korea majorly exported stainless steel to Vietnam, Turkey and Thailand accounting for 0.01 MnT each in May’19.
