Odisha Iron Ore Dispatches Up 8% in Apr’19

Odisha- India’s largest iron ore producing state recorded rise in total iron ore dispatches at 6.82 MnT in Apr’19, as against 6.30 MnT in Mar’19. The figures exclude movement for export and dispatches of miners- SAIL & Tata Steel. In the beginning of April’19 odisha based merchant iron ore miners offered discount amid fresh EC limit for the new fiscal year.

Rungta Mines, India’s largest private merchant miner, dispatched the iron ore at 1.70 MnT in Apr’19. The dispatch recorded an increase of 28% against 1.33 MnT in Mar’19.

OMC, state-owned miner recorded 5% increase in dispatches to 0.84 MnT as against 0.80 MnT in Mar’19.

Serajuddin mine recorded iron ore production at 0.81 MnT in Apr’19, down 7% against 0.87 MnT in Mar’19. Serajuddin mine produces around 10 MnT iron ore annually and has an EC limit of 15.15 MnT p.a.

Essel Mining dispatches stood stable M-o-M at 0.57 MnT.

Dispatches from Indrani Patnaika, AMTC and KN Ram witnessed fall for the month at 0.27 MnT , 0.26 MnT and 0.20 MnT respectively.

Rise in global iron ore price has favored domestic iron ore price hike. Odisha based major miners like Rungta, Essel mining, Serajuddin Mines, RP Sao, KJS Ahluwalia, and KN Ram raised offers towards the endo of May’19. Currently, spot iron ore fines price (Fe 62%) is assessed at USD 103.65/MT, CFR China.
