Indian Govt Further Extends Anti Dumping Duty on DI Pipe Imports from China

Anti-dumping duty on imports of Ductile Iron (DI) pipes further extended for 45 days till 23rd Jun’19, as per recent notification by Indian government.

The Indian Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties under the Ministry Of Industry and Commerce has again extended anti dumping duty on imports of Ductile Iron Pipes from China PR, falling under tariff of 73030030 & 73030090.

Earlier on 10th Oct’13, the government had imposed anti dumping duty for the period of 5 years and duties were in the range of USD 127.40 to USD 139.70/MT. However later it was extended till 9th May’19.

Meanwhile in recent order, the government has notified to continue it for coming 45 days starting from 9th May’19 to 23rd Jun’19.

The government in notification stated that “this Court deems it fit to direct the authority to extend the Anti-Dumping Notification for further period of 45 days from 09th May 2019, so that both the sides may have sufficient time to make submissions and take their further recourse after the judgment is rendered in this matter, as otherwise also, the original time of one year, which is available for continuing the Anti-dumping Duty, is available till 08th Oct 2019, therefore, such an extension would in no way prejudice to anyone.”
