Bhubaneswar:
The Shah Commission of enquiry has started preparations for submission of its second and final report on illegal mining in Odisha. According to some reports the panel may submit its final report in the month of September or first week of October.
In this connection, the commission has asked more details on two mines held by Rungta mines operating in the Koira sector. The Odisha government has been asked to furnish details on the two mines Kamalanga and Kanthara Manganese mines in the Koira Circle by 27th of this month.
These two mines have allegedly violated the statutory norms and have mined 50 acres more than the stipulated leased area.
The Kamalanga mines are situated on 188 hectres and the Kathara mines is of 88 hectres. However, experts say, it will not be easy for the government to furnish all the details, since the mine was leased to Rungta way back in May 8, 1939 and the commission has asked for the lease map approved in January 1,1937.
