As per recent data released by Philippines customs it is observed that the billet Imports plunged by 23.3% in Jan’19 on yearly basis.
The nation has imported about 201,003 MT Billet in Jan’19 against 262,097 MT in Jan’18. On monthly basis in Jan’19 , imports registered a fall of 1.4% against 203,762 MT in Dec’18.
During the month of Jan’19, Russia has exported approximately 69% billet (138,661 MT) to the nation, & remains the largest exporter to Philippines, followed by Vietnam (41,532 MT) & Turkey (20,800 MT). Further, it was also come in line that no major Billet import were recorded from India, Thailand, Japan & South Korea.
While in the first 10 months of FY19 (Apr-Jan), billet imports up by 34.92% Y-o-Y & stood at 2,732,250 MT against same preceding last year (FY18, Apr-Jan) at 2,024,939 MT.
During 2019 (Apr-Jan), Russia (53.19%) remains the largest exporter of billet to Philippines, followed by Vietnam (11.82%), India (5.59%), Thailand (4.99%) & Turkey (4.94%)
In context to export prices, the export offers of 150*150 IS 2830 grade billet were at USD 445-455/MT FoB India, 125*125 3SP at USD 440-450/MT FoB Ukraine & 150*150 Q235 are at USD 475-485/MT FoB China.
