US government agency EIA has reported that during the week ended on 2nd November, 2013, US coal production totaled approximately 19.3 million metric short tons (mmst). Production has increased by 0.1% in comparison to last week and 1.2% higher than the production estimate in the comparable weeks in 2012.
Coal production from east of the Mississippi River totaled 7.8 mmst and from west of the Mississippi River totaled 11.6 mmst.
United States total coal production including Coking, Non-coking, Anthracite reached to 841.8 mmst which dropped by 2.0% than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2012.
Coal Production for October Month
As EIA reported, US produced approximately 85.3 million short tons of coal in October 2013 and October coal production increased by 1.78% M-o-M. This production estimate is 0.1%higher than the production estimate in the same month in 2012.
Coal production in east of the Mississippi River totaled 36.3 mmst (up 5.52% M-o-M) and in west of the Mississippi River totaled 49.0 mmst (0.60% M-o-M) in October 2013.
