United States has imported about 0.61 MnT Pig iron in Nov’18, the recent released data by US custom showed.
The imports by the nation recorded a surge of 56.41% M-o-M against 0.39 MnT in Oct’18. During Nov’18, Russia has exported approximately 60% Pig Iron (0.37 MnT) to the nation. While on yearly basis, Pig iron imports by the nation rise by 52.5% in Nov’18 as against 0.40 MnT in Nov’17.
In CY18 (Jan-Nov), the nation has imported about 5.34 MnT Pig Iron; surge by 10.55% as compared to 4.83 MnT in the same preceding last year. Russia, Ukraine & Brazil was the major Pig Iron exporter to United States which exported about 2.89 MnT (54.13%), 1.65 MnT (30.88%) & 0.56 MnT (10.45%), respectively.
As per the SteelMint analysis, in the month of Nov’18, the crude steel production of United States was around 7.43 MnT, decline by 1.84% M-o-M against 7.57 MnT in Oct’18 and in CY18 (Jan-Dec) it was approximately 85.96 MnT, surge by 4.89% against 81.95 MnT in CY17 (Jan-Dec).
In context to export prices, global offers for steel grade pig Iron is assessed at USD 340-350/MT FoB India, USD 320-330/MT FoB Black Sea & USD 310-320/MT FOB Brazil.
USA Billet imports
United States Billet imports plunged by 42.83% & stood at 0.36 MnT in Nov’18. Brazil has exported approximately 0.10 MT billets to USA, decline by 76% against 0.42 MT in Oct’18. Inline billet imports from Mexico fall by 33% & stood at 0.06 MnT in Nov’18 as against 0.09 MnT in Oct’18.
The export offers of 150*150 IS 2830 grade billet are currently at USD 420-430/MT FoB India, 125*125 3SP at USD 430-440/MT FoB Ukraine & 150*150 Q235 are at USD 455-465/MT FoB China.
