India: JSPL Eyes 1.5 MnT Steel Output in Q4 FY19

Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), -one of the India’s leading steel producer has reported quarterly steel output and sales for third quarter of FY’19 (Oct-Dec’18).

Company is targeting to acheive 1.5 MnT steel output in Q4FY19 from India operations, seeing growth of 25% compared to previous quarter (Q3FY19). For FY20 they are eyeing for 6.5 Mnt pa production.

Production from India fall marginally, Oman production Up: JSPL’s domestic steel output stood at 1.22 MnT during Oct-Dec’18; which has marginally fall by 6% on Q-o-Q basis and while it was significant up by 21% compared to 0.97 MnT in Q3 FY’18.

In Oman operation, Company’s steel production has recorded an increase of 21% and stood at 0.46 MnT in Q3 FY19 on Q-o-Q basis while it move up by 10% on Y-o-Y and stood at 0.42 MnT in Q3 FY18.

Sales Volume marginal fall both in India & Oman: Company’s domestic sales has recorded fall by 6% to 1.2 MnT during Oct-Dec’18 as compared to 1.28 MnT in Q2FY19. Meanwhile on Y-o-Y basis, its sales was recorded significant growth of 28%.

Similarly, sales in Oman also fell marginal fall by 4% in Q3FY19 and stood at 0.45 MnT on Q-o-Q basis while it up by 7% to 0.42 MnT in Q3FY18.
