According to the recent customs data, Turkey flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates), 7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets), 7210/7212(GP/GC) reported significant drop of 16% in CY’18 to 7.05 MnT which was 8.41 MnT in CY’17.
Year-on-year basis Turkish flat steel imports plunged by 47% to 0.33 MnT in Dec’18 as compared to 0.62 MnT in Dec’17.
However the same fell by 18% M-o-M basis in Dec’18 against 0.4 MnT in Nov’18.

Country-wise Turkey Flat Steel Imports in CY’18- Russia being the major exporter to Turkey exported 2.10 MnT with a share of 30% in CY18.
Second major exporting nation was Ukraine stood at 0.64 MnT and accounted for 9% of share in CY’18 .
Other major exporting nations were South Korea at 0.58 MnT, France at 0.58 MnT, Germany at 0.50 MnT, China at 0.37 MnT follwed by Brazil at 0.34 MnT and Belguim at 0.30 MnT in CY18.
