Bahrain iron ore imports in CY’18 witnessed at 8.99 MnT, up 59% as against 5.64 MnT in CY17.
For the month of Dec’18, the total imports of iron ore stood at 0.66 MnT, down 49% as against 1.29 MnT in Nov’18. On yearly basis, imports increased to three folds as against 0.22 MnT in Dec’17.
Iron ore Imports from Brazil increased sharply in CY18
In CY18, Brazilian exports to Bahrain recorded at 6.13 MnT, up 58% against 3.87 MnT in CY17.Chile stood second largest exporter at 1.17 MnT followed by Canada at 1.14 MnT.
In Dec’18, Brazil contributed 74% of total Bahrain imports share at 0.49 MnT (down 46% M-o-M) and remaining 26% contributed by Chile at 0.17 MnT.

Bahrain pellet exports up 13% in CY’18
Bahrain pellet exports in CY’18 recorded at 7.6 MnT, up 13% Y-o-Y as against 6.73 MnT in CY’17.
In Dec’18, total Bahrain pellet exports witnessed at 0.7 MnT, down 44% against 1.25 MnT in Nov’18. On yearly basis, exports increased significantly as compared to 0.13 MnT in Dec’17.
Oman turns out to be the largest pellets importer from Bahrain in CY’18
Oman stood the largest importer of Bahrain pellet at 2.35 MnT, down 6% as against 2.5 MnT in CY17. Saudi Arabia marked second largest importer at 1.84 MnT (up 88% Y-o-Y) followed by UAE at 1.48 MnT. Indian imports increased in CY18 to 0.85 MnT compared to 0.38 MnT in CY17.
