US government agency has reported that in the week ended on 20th July 2013 US coal production totaled approximately 20 million short tons (mmst). The production is estimated to be 2 % higher in comparison of last week and 1.6% higher than the production estimate in the comparable weeks in 2012
Coal production for east of the Mississippi River totaled 7.6 mmst and for west of the Mississippi River totaled 12.4 million metric short tons.(mmst)
U.S. year-to-date coal production totaled 542.8 mmst, 3.8% lower than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2012.
