Vizag Steel also known as RINL- the state-owned steel maker under the Ministry of Steel, has invited tender for export of Wire rods, Billets and Blooms to Nepal. The quantity for each product is 5,418 MT (equivalent to 2 rakes) and the minimum offered quantity for each products is 630 MT.
The delivery for the material scheduled by 15 Feb’19. The due date for bid submission is 7 Jan’19 (till 15.00 HRS) and the offer given by the bidder will remain valid till 14 Jan’19.

Vizag Steel’s Previous Export Tender – RINL’s last export tender to Nepal received average response which due date for bid submission was 13th Dec’18 with scheduled delivery by mid of Jan’19. In this tender the company was offered Wire rods, Billets and Blooms, each at 5,418 MT.
As per sources the company was concluded Billet export tender close to USD 450/MT (ex-mill) for 2,709 (one rake). However remaining quantity of Billet, Bloom & Wire rod was unsold due to lower bids than they were expecting.
The highest bid for Bloom was heard at around USD 410-415/MT & for Wire rod at close to USD 550-555/MT ex-mill. The company didn’t concludes tender on this highest bids.
Induction Grade Steel export offers to Nepal
The mid size mills in Durgapur reported subdued response from the Nepal’s re-rollers for Induction route Billet & Wire rod exports.
As per producers, small parcels of Billet have been sold in the beginning of week at around USD 455/MT. However no major deals reported for Wire rod which offers hover at USD 535-537/MT*. The prices are ex-mill at Durgapur, eastern India.
