According to the recent customs data, the world’s third largest steel exporter Russia’s flat steel exports which include 7208 (HR coils /Plates), 7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) inch up by 3% in Oct’18 to 0.78 MnT as compared to 0.76 MnT in Sep’18.
However the same registered a surge of 10% Y-o-Y basis in Oct’18 compared to 0.71 MnT in preceding year.
As per market reports, Russian steel mills is focusing on steel exports to overseas nations despite imposition of duties by other steel markets which include USA,Turkey,Europe.Thus Russian countries are exploring export opportunities to Europe and other CIS countries.
During first ten months of CY18 (Jan-Oct),country’s cumulative flat steel export volumes stood at 7.48 MnT move down by 3% against 7.71 MnT during the same period last year.

County-wise Russia flat steel imports in Oct’18- Turkey, the leading importer and has imported 0.16 MnT in Oct’18 compared to 0.19 MnT in previous month.
Second major importer includes Belarus procured 0.06 MnT in Oct’18 remained stable since past two months.
Other major importing nations include Vietnam at 0.13 MnT reported significant surge compared to 0.08 MnT in previous month.
Followed this Poland stood at 0.05 MnT in Oct’18 compared to 0.02 MnT in previous month. Uzbekistan at 0.05 MnT ,Latvia at 0.02 MnT ,Kazakhstan and Egypt at 0.04 MnT in Oct’18.
