World Crude Steel Output Inch Down by 4% in Nov’18

According to the recent data released by World Steel Association (WSA) total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries inch down by 4% to 148.61 MnT in Nov’18 which was 155.56 MnT in previous month.

However on yearly basis world steel output moved down by 6% against 140.53 MnT in Nov’17.

During first eleven months (Jan- Nov) of CY18 world crude steel output stood at 1,646 MnT higher by 5% which was 1,572 MnT in same time frame of previous year.

SteelMint has analyzed world’s crude steel production numbers of major steel producing countries –

China’s crude steel output decline by 6% M-o-M in Nov’18- China crude steel output reduce by 6% to 77.62 MnT in Nov’18 which was 82.55 MnT in previous month.Winter production cuts to curb pollution has resulted to decline in production numbers from China.

However on Y-o-Y basis the same rose by 11% against 70.02 MnT in Nov’17.

India’s crude steel output inch down by 3%M-o-M in Nov’18- Indian crude steel output inch down by 3% to 8.49 MnT in Nov’18 which was 8.77 MnT in Oct’18.Sluggish demand and subdued trades leads to lower crude steel output.

However on yearly basis the same inch down by 1% against 8.60 MnT in Nov’17.

Japan’s crude steel output inch up by 1% M-o-M in Nov’18 – Japan crude steel output inch up by 1% to 8.65 MnT in Nov’18 which was 8.57 MnT in Oct’18.Increase domestic demand leads to increase in crude steel output.

Meanwhile on Y-o-Y basis nation’s crude steel output remain stable in Nov’18 and Nov’17.

United States crude steel output inch down by 2% M-o-M in Nov’18- USA crude steel output stood at 7.42 MnT in Nov’18 inch down by 2% against 7.55 MnT in Oct’18.However on yearly premise nation’s crude steel output moved up by 12% stood at 6.64 MnT in Nov’17.

Crude steel production of other top steel producing countries in Nov’18 is as follows Russia: 5.68 MnT, South Korea: 5.92 MnT, Brazil: 2.84 MnT ,Turkey 3.14 MnT and Germany at 3.45 MnT.
