Mr.B.S Yeddyurappa, Chief Minister of Karnataka said that the system of issuing bulk permits for transporting Iron ore will be abolished and a new, transparent system will be brought in.
The government has recently stopped issuing fresh export permits to curb illegal mining in the State.
The Chief Minister said that it will be made mandatory for every truck that carries Iron ore to have a separate permit under the new system.
He also denied allegations about Iron ore being transported illegally by railway wagons and said the State Government is so keen on preserving the natural resource that it will not care losing revenue from the export of Iron ore.
