India: CEPL, the Lowest Bidder for TNPL's 0.3 MnT of Indonesian Coal Tender

An India based coal trader Coastal Energy Private Limited has offered the lowest price of US$ 73 per metric ton, for calorific value of 6000 GAD and 18% total moisture coal for TNPL against TNPL's recent tender. 

TNPL is a traditional consumer of Indonesian coal, for its paper factory in Karur district, India. 

CEPL is part of the Dubai Based Coal & Oil Company, which is the second largest coal importer in India and having offices across the India as well as in Singapore and Indonesia. 

According to E-Tender conducted by TNPL last week , US$ 73 was the lowest among other bids from around Nine coal suppliers. The price difference between lowest manual bid and E-bid is around US$ 1.25 per MT. E-Tender generates the lowest price of US$ 73 MT instead of US$ 74.2 from manual bids.

If Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL), concluded this tender successfully then, TNPL will concluded a 6000 GAD coal at US$ 73/ MT CNF Karaikal, India.  

The total quantity of tender is for 300,000 MT and to be delivered by 5X 60,000 MT lots. The deliveries must start from the end of August 2013, by Panamax shipments.

According to the tender norms,  the quality of coal should be Gross Calorific Value (adb) 6000 Kcal/Kg basis and will be rejected if GCV on adb is below 5600 kcal/kg. 

The Inherent Moisture (adb) of around 10%, Total Moisture (arb) 18 % basis and  above 25% will be rejected. The Ash content (adb) 8% max , Sulphur (ADB)  0.8% max, Volatile Matter (adb) 25 to 45% and above 45% will be rejected.
