The Karnataka Government has stuck to its offer of extending the validity of an Iron ore transport permit to 9 days and declined to consider it for 12 or 10 days as suggested by mining companies.
The Chief Justice said the court would consider the mining company’s plea if they proved why they needed more than 9 days else they should settle for the Government’s offer.
Ravindra G Kolle, Government advocate referring to a Lokayukta report said that it requires only a day’s time to transport Iron ore from the Bellary-Hospet region to Mangalore port (450 km).
