Odisha – India’s largest iron ore producing state has recorded Oct’18 production at 9.21 MnT, up 43% as compared to Sep’18 production at 6.43 MnT, according to the provisional data of Odisha Govt. maintained by SteelMint. The figures include the type of material – fines, lumps, and concentrate.
On yearly basis,Oct’18 production increased 14% as against Oct’17 production at 8.1 MnT.
Odisha based merchant miners were facing narrowed buying interest following which they were giving quantity discounts to stimulate the buying interest. Recently, the largest merchant miners have slashed iron ore price twice in a week time to enhance the buying interest.
Rungta Mines – India’s largest private merchant miner produced 1.97 MnT iron ore from its mines in Odisha in Oct’18, up two folds M-o-M as against 0.98 MnT in Sep’18.
Tata iron ore production stood at 1.16 MnT (up 30% M-o-M) and SAIL at 0.86 MnT (up 18% on monthly basis).
Iron ore production of state-owned miner- OMC marked significant rise to more than five folds at 0.73 MnT for the month as against 0.14 MnT in Sep’18.
Essel mining and RP Sao witnessed increase in Oct’18 production at 0.84 MnT (up two folds) and 0.78 MnT (up 18% M-o-M) respectively. RP Sao has depicted continuous rise in production since May’18 at 0.13 MnT.
Serajuddin and KJS Ahluwalia depicted decline in Oct’18 production at 0.43 MnT and 0.37 MnT respectively.
