India: TNPL Tender for Purchase of 140,000 MT Imported Non-coking Coal

Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Paper Limited (TNPL), a producer of bagasse based eco-friendly paper, has emerged as the largest bagasse based paper mill in the world consuming about 1 MnT of bagasse every year.

The company has invited a global tender for purchase of 140,000 non-coking coal of foreign (Indonesian/ Australian/ South African/ Russian/ Chinese) origin, out of which 125,000 MT material is required for unit I at Karur and remaining 15,000 MT for unit II at Mondipatti (near Trichy).

Delivery period:

1st Shipment – ETA Karaikal 70,000 MT – by 3rd week of Jan-2019
2nd Shipment – ETA Karaikal 55,000 MT – by 1st week of Feb-2019

Qualifying criteria:

The bidder should have supplied at least 1/3rd (3:1) times of tender quantity coal to industrial unit in India in any one of the year from 2015 to 2017.

The supply quantity should have been performed with vessel size of not less than 40,000 MT per shipment.

The performance qualifying criteria is to be met by the party on whom the order is to be placed.
