Japan’s Shinagawa Refractories Soon to Enter Indian Steel Market

Shinagawa Refractory which has been providing key Japanese industry with a variety of refectories, Kilns, furnaces, and equipment for over 130 years has recently announced its plans to enter in Indian refractories business for steel. The company will set up a joint venture by the end of December with local refractory manufacturers, who will support on the production and sale of refractories.

SG Shinagawa Refractory’s India will be a joint venture and it will be located in the state of Gujarat. Shinagawa Refractories Co. Ltd will hold 51% stake in the joint venture, transfer the company’s technical capabilities and lead the management.

Making the announcement the company official said: “While taking full advantage of existing sales channels in India, we will expand sales of refractories for high-quality steel”.

Established in 1875, Shinagawa Refractory is working with a wide range of key industries including the non- ferrous metal, electricity, gases, cement, glass, and ceramic industries as well as the steel industry.
