Rourkela Steel Plant registers highest ever monthly Production & Dispatch record
Bhubaneswar: The Hot Strip Mill of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) set its highest ever monthly production and dispatch records in the month of October 2018. The Mill achieved the feat by producing 1,69,461 Tonnes of HR Coils and dispatching 1,03,025 Tonnes of HR Coils in the said month.The previous best monthly production record was of 1,67, 177 Tonnes of HR Coil, made in the month of March-2018 while the previous record of dispatch of 1,01,184 Tonnes of HR Coils was set in August 2017.
The excellent performance could be achieved because of the best utilization of the available resources, improved rolling rate, better mill utilization, lesser numbers of breakdowns and cobble generation and better availability of the equipment.It is noteworthy that after the capital record everybody worked hard to ensure that the mill returns to track with a record achievement.
The dispatch of this level could be achieved because of good wagon availability in the last week of the month. Under the leadership of Mr. P Murli, GM (HSM) the entire team of operation, mechanical, electrical and dispatch worked in tandem along with the support of other units like PPC, R&C Lab, TRM, Roll Shop, SMS-I&II, Crane Maint.(Mech & Electrical), EMD, Instrumentation, WMD, Air Conditioning, C&IT, Power Distribution, CED, EED, RC(M), Shops and other allied agencies.
