Tata Steel – one of the major steelmakers in India is sourcing pellets from southern India based pellet maker – KIOCL. According to vessel line up data maintained by SteelMint, the vessel carrying around 30,000 MT Pellets from Mangalore port (Karnataka) to arrive at Haldia Port.
As per the sources report to SteelMint, Tata Steel’s pellet plant in Jamshedpur is going for three week-long maintenance shut down owing to which they are sourcing pellets from KIOCL. Tata Steel’s Jamshedpur pellet plant has a capacity of 6 MnT p.a.
Tata Steel registers increase in crude steel output In Q2 CY’18
The steelmaker has registered growth of 3% Q-o-Q basis in its standalone crude steel output to 3.27 MnT in Q2 FY19 as compared to 3.18 MnT in Q1 FY19. During the tenure of H1FY19, Tata Steel’s production volumes recorded growth of 5% to 6.44 MnT against 6.15 MnT in a similar time frame of previous fiscal.
Tata Steel is one of India’s major steelmaker with a combined crude steelmaking capacity of 19.6 MnT. It has recently acquired Bhushan Steel and Usha Martin adding to its steelmaking capacities.
