Russia, world’s 8th largest exporter of iron ore exported 1.21 MnT iron ore in July’18, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs. The export dropped 31% in July’18 as against June’18 exports at 1.76 MnT.
Russian iron ore exports reduced 22% Y-o-Y in July’18 as against 1.56 MnT in July’17.
For the duration Jan-July’18, exports stood down 17% at 10.02 MnT as against same duration previous year at 12.07 MnT.
Agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports marked at 0.84 MnT in July’18, down by 50% as against 1.68 MnT in June’18. However, on yearly basis the exports recorded decline of 35% as compared to 1.29 MnT in July’17.
Non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports witnessed significant increase almost five fold to 0.38 MnT in July’18, compared to 0.08 MnT in June’18. The Y-o-Y exports in July’18 increased 46% as against July’17 export which stood at 0.26 MnT.
Russian Iron ore exports to China up significantly M-o-M
China imports of iron ore from Russia marked sharp increase to 0.34 MnT as against being 0.01 MnT a month before.
Ukraine continued to be the largest importer for the month at 0.45 MnT (stable on monthly basis).
Slovakia, Germany and Turkey marked decline in imports for the month at 0.09 MnT(down 59% M-o-M), 0.04 MnT (down 79% M-o-M) and 0.03 MnT (down 85% on monthly basis) respectively.
