Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) – a Government of India Enterprise, has floated export tenders for 18,500 MT pig iron from its Bokaro Steel plant. The tender put up is for steel making Pig Iron offered from Bokaro Steel plant has following specifications – C-3.8-4.6%, Mn-0.05-0.20%, S-0.020-0.10% , and P-0.10-0.20%. Due date for bid submission is 17:00 hrs as per IST on 18 Sep’18. The cargo will be shipped from Haldia port and material shipping is scheduled within 31 Oct’18.

SAIL is the major producer of Steel in India. It has Steel Plants and its own captive mines across India and produces various Iron and Steel products like flat, long, special steel and pig iron etc. As per customs data maintained with SteelMint, SAIL exported 7,200 MT pig iron in CY17.
MMTC’s 30,000 MT Pig iron export tender – MMTC has floated export tender for 30,000 MT non-alloy Pig Iron on behalf of Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL). The due date for submission of bids is 14:30 hrs on 26 Sept’18. In mid of August the company had floated export tender of 30,000 MT non-alloy Pig Iron on which was due on 28 Aug’18. According to trade sources report to SteelMint, the tender fetched participation from two companies and was concluded at around USD 385/MT, FoB.
