According to latest customs data, USA flat steel exports which includes (7208 HR coils/Plates,7209 CR coils,7210,7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets) witness decline by 14% on monthly basis in Jul’18 over previous month.
The country has exported 0.36 MnT of flat steel in Jul’18 in comparison with 0.42 MnT in Jun’18.
However on yearly premise,flat steel exports drop by 14% in Jul’18 against 0.42 MnT in Jul’17.
U.S. steel exports remained on lower side and it is anticipated that it may fall further because of trade related conflicts with major trading partners Canada, Mexico and the European Union.
During first seven months of CY18 (Jan-Jul) nation has exported 2.86 MnT of flat steel lower by 13% against 3.27 MnT in same time frame of previous year.

Country-Wise USA flat steel exports in Jul’18- Mexico was the major flat steel importer from USA and has procured 0.14 MnT in Jul’18 fell by 33% against 0.21 MnT in Jun’18.
Another largest importer of flat steel from USA was Canada which stood at 0.20 MnT in Jul’18 up by 11% against 0.18 MnT in Jun’18.
USA Flat steel imports in Jul’18 – Nation’s flat steel imports stood at 0.96 MnT in Jul’18 ,higher by 17% as compared to 0.82 MnT in Jun’18.However on yearly basis the same plunged by 17% in Jul’18 as compared to 1.16 MnT in Jun’18.
Country-wise USA Flat Steel Imports in Jul’18 – In Jul’18 Canada was the largest exporter of flat steel which procured 0.27 MnT,higher by 13% against 0.24 MnT in previous month.Second largest importer was South Korea at 0.10 MnT in Jul’18 against 0.06 MnT in same time frame of previous year.
Other major countries were Mexico,Vietnam Germany followed by Taiwan Japan and Turkey in Jul’18.
