India: Iron Ore Dispatches from Serajuddin Mines Increased in August

Odisha’s 2nd largest merchant miner – Serajuddin Mines has recorded sharp increase in its iron ore dispatches in Aug’18. According to data maintained with SteelMint, the miner dispatched 0.74 MnT in Aug’18, up 57% M-o-M. Steel mills like Bhushan Steel, Bhushan Power & Steel, and Essar Steel increased sourcing from Serajuddin mines sharply in August.

Odisha’s merchant iron ore mines – Rungta Mines, India’s largest private merchant miner, dispatched the highest quantity of iron ore. Dispatches declined by 6% to 1.75 MnT in Aug’18 as against 1.87 MnT in Jul’18.

KJS Ahluwalia dispatches stood at 0.53 MnT (down 6% M-o-M) and Kaypee Enterprises at 0.5 MnT (down 3% on monthly basis).

Dispatches from Indrani Patnaik at 0.37 MnT (up 65% M-o-M) and Essel Mining increased at 0.29 MnT (Up 12% M-o-M) significantly. AMTC and SN Mohanty have depicted decreased in Aug’18 iron ore dispatches. RP Sao depicted significant decrease of 22% to 0.20 MnT.

OMC, state-owned miner recorded an increase in dispatches at 0.86MnT in Aug’18, depicting a rise of 28% as against 0.67MnT in Jul’18.

Odisha – India’s largest iron ore producing state recorded dispatches at 6.21 MnT in Aug’18. The dispatch increased by 6% on monthly basis as against 5.83 MnT in Jul’18. The figures exclude movement for export and dispatches of captive miner- SAIL & Tata Steel.

However, on yearly basis, iron ore dispatches from Odisha decreased marginally in Aug’18 as compared to Aug’17 dispatches at 6.32 MnT.

During (Apr-Aug’18) Odisha iron ore dispatches have increased marginally to 29.35 MnT against 29.59 MnT in the same period a year ago (Apr-Aug’17).
