Odisha’s few major merchant iron ore miners – RP Sao, KJS and Kaypee Enterprises have announced a hike in iron ore prices by around INR 300/MT in both lumps and fines.
Hike in pellet prices along with the surge in sponge prices have resulted in the hike in offers by Odisha based major miners. Pellet prices in eastern India (Ex Durgapur) have gained by INR 1,000/MT in a month’s time on the back of high export prices.
C-DRI prices in Durgapur have increased by INR300/MT to INR 24,200/MT this week against INR 23,900/MT in a week ago.

RP Sao operates a mine with EC limit of 5.2 MnT pa. KJS Ahluwalia produced 5.4 MnT iron ore in FY18.
