Taiwan has depicted rise in imports for the month of June’18. The imports recorded at 2.33 MnT, up 40% as against May’18 imports at 1.67 MnT .On yearly premises, the imports in June’18 recorded rise of 43% as against imports in June’17 at 1.63 MnT.
For Q2 CY’18, the imports witnessed marginal increase to 6.04 MnT as against 5.78 MnT in Q1 CY’18.
The Non-agglomerated ore (Lump and Fines) imports witnessed an increase of 46% in June’18 to 2.18 MnT as against 1.49 MnT in last month. The Y-o-Y imports in June’18 recorded increase of 41% compared to 1.55 MnT in June’17.
Agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) imports in June’18 recorded 12% decline to 0.15 MnT as against 0.17 MnT in May’18. However, the Y-o-Y change in June’18 depicted significant rise in imports by 67% as against 0.09 MnT in June’17.
Taiwan crude steel output down in June’18
Taiwan crude steel production declined in June’18 to 1.66 MnT from 1.72 MnT in May’18.
Australian iron ore exports to Taiwan increased 44% M-o-M
Australia continues to be the largest exporter of iron ore to Taiwan in June’18 at 1.87 MnT (up 44% M-o-M) accounting for 80% of total Taiwan’s imports share for the month. Brazil stood second largest exporter at 0.45 MnT (up by almost two folds M-o-M), contributing remaining 20% of Taiwan’s import share.
Canada exports for the month recorded nil against being 0.14 MnT a month ago.
