As per latest custom data,Taiwan flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils/Plates),7209(CR coils),7225(Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) registered growth of 8% to 4.51 MnT in H1CY18 as compared to 4.19 MnT in H1CY17.
On monthly basis the same went down by 10% to 0.74 MnT in Jun’18 which was 0.82 MnT a month ago.
Similarly on yearly basis,nation’s flat steel exports surged by 25% in Jun’18 as compared to 0.59 MnT in Jun’17.
Taiwan mainly exports HRC to Vietnam owing to lesser production capacities and increased consumption.End users in Vietnam prefer imported HRC from Taiwan over competitive offers compared to other exporting nations.In H1CY18 nation has exported 0.69 MnT to Vietnam as higher by 17% as compared to 0.58 MnT in H1CY17.

Country-Wise Taiwan Flat Steel Exports in H1CY18- Taiwan flat steel majorly exports flat steel to Vietnam.In H1CY18 nation has exported 0.69 MnT to Vietnam as compared to 0.58 MnT in H1CY17.Thus Vietnam accounts for 15% of share from Taiwan flat steel exports from Jan-Jun’18.
Second major importer was China which stood at 0.58 MnT in H1CY18 inch down against 0.6 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.
Meanwhile Japan stood at 0.46 MnT and Malaysia at 0.40 MnT in H1CY18.
Other major importers were USA at 0.24 MnT ,followed by Spain at 0.23 MnT and Belguim at 0.24 MnT in H1CY’18.
