Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), a Government of India Enterprise, is the major producer of Steel in India. It has Steel Plants and its own captive mines across India and produces various Iron and Steel products like Flat Steel Products, Long Steel Products, Special Steels and Pig Iron etc. SAIL is a “Maharatna company”, accredited with various quality certificate viz. ISO-9001-2008, IS-14001,OHSAS-18001, SA-8000 etc. During the financial year 2017-18, SAIL produced 15.02 MillionTons of Crude Steel with an net annual sales of above Rs.56,893 Crores.
The company will require a projected quantity of about 6,740 MT ferro silicon to meet its four months requirement from Sep’18-Dec’18.
The offer submitted by the bidder will be valid for the period of 60 days from the date of tender opening.

Chemical specifications:
The material should contain Silicon 70% min, Carbon 0.15% max, Phosphorous 0.05% max, Sulphur 0.05% max and Aluminium 2.0% max.
Eligibility criteria:
1. The bidder should be a ferro silicon manufacturer and must have installed capacity to produce 8,000 MT of ferro silicon per annum.
2. The bidder must offer a minimum quantity of 3,200 MT to be submitted in 4 equal installments.
3. The bidder must quote for all size-wise, packing-wise requirement of the market for all SAIL’s plants.

The due date for submitting the offer is 1 Sep’18 till 13:00 hrs and the techno-commercial opening is scheduled on 3 Sep’18 at 10:30 hrs
