China’s major steelmaker – Baosteel has released their prices for September deliveries. The company has kept prices unchanged for its Baoshan manufacturing base but it has increased prices at its Meishan and Dongshan base.
The effective rates for HRC (SS400 5.5mm*1500*C) are heard to be at RMB 5,478/MT (USD 795/MT) which remain unchanged against previous month.
However Meishan and Dongshan have raised HRC prices by Yuan 50/MT for the month of September.
Meanwhile Q235 plates A14-20mm medium plate also remain unchanged and is priced at RMB 4,855/MT (USD 705/MT).
Also effective prices of CRC (1.0mm, SPCC) remain stable and is hovering at RMB 5,499/MT (USD 798/MT) for Baoshan works, however up by RMB 50/MT for Meishan base.
All prices mentioned above are inclusive of taxes.
Previously,the company has kept flat steel prices unchanged for the month of August.However Baosteel has increased HRC prices in the month of July.
Chinese domestic HRC prices moved up post production cuts- Recently Chinese steel mills have stepped up their efforts to curb excess steel capacity in Tangshan city which is steel-making hub in northern region.
Thus on an average basis domestic HRC prices till mid Aug’18 stood at RMB 4,297/MT (Eastern China ) which was RMB 4,223/MT (Eastern China) till mid July’18.
