India’s Petcoke imports have fallen 6.8% on a month-to-month basis to 0.61 MnT in Jul’18, compared with 0.66 MnT in Jun’18, according to the vessel line-up data compiled by CoalMint Research.

On a year-on-year basis, the imports have decreased nearly 47% from 1.15 MnT in Jul’17.
During the first 7 months of CY18 (Jan’18-Jul’18), Indian Petcoke imports have totaled 4.63 MnT, down 33.3% from 6.94 MnT imported in the corresponding 2017 period.
Major Coal Exporters to India:
A country-wise break-up of the monthly import data shows that the majority of the imports were from USA, accounting for approximately 30.85% share; however, Indian Petcoke imports from USA has dropped 18.1% M-o-M in Jul’18.
Following USA, Saudi Arabia accounted for around 17.2% share but imports from the country were 42.8% lower as compared to the previous month.
Imports from China constituted around 13% share of the total Petcoke imports in India during Jul’18.
