According to the recent customs data,Turkey flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates),7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) registered the growth of 8% to 3.86 MnT in Jan – Jun’18 which was 3.58 MnT in Jan-Jun’17.
However on monthly basis the same witness decline by 33% in Jun’18 to 0.56 MnT as compared to 0.84 MnT a month ago.
Similarly on yearly basis nation’s flat steel imports plunged by 14% in Jun’18 which was 0.65 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.
Nation’s flat steel imports witness rise in the first half of 2018 since the high volume has been imported in the months of May and April.Also CIS nations have actively exported flat steel to Turkey in these two months over strong demand in turkey market.

Country-Wise Turkey Flat Steel Imports in H1CY18 – Russia stood as a major flat steel exporter and has procured 1.27 MnT of flat steel in Jan-June’18 fell by 21% as compared to 1.61 MnT in H1CY17.
Secondly,Ukraine exported 0.35 MnT in Jan-Jun’18,lower by 5% against 0.37 MnT in same time frame of previous month.
Followed by France at 0.32 MnT in H1CY’18,moved up by 39% against 0.23 MnT in H1CY’17.
However South Korea stood at 0.28 MnT ,Germany at 0.22 MnT followed by Belgium at 0.20 MnT and Netherlands at 0.16 MnT in H1CY18.
