As per latest custom data,Taiwan flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils/Plates),7209(CR coils),7225(Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) recorded the growth of 12% on monthly basis to 0.82 MnT in May’18 as compared to 0.73 MnT in Apr’18.
Similarly on yearly basis country’s flat steel exports moved up by 11% in May’18 as compared to 0.74 MnT in May’17.
During first five months of CY18 ( Jan-May) nation has exported 3.78 MnT higher by 5% against 3.6 MnT in Jan-May17.
Taiwan majorly exports flat steel to Vietnam.Improved demand for imported HRC in Vietnam resulted to surge in export volumes from Taiwan.Taiwan exports 15% of its share to Vietnam in first five months of CY18. Meanwhile steel mills in Vietnam have huge dependency on imported HRC coming from major exporting nations over lesser domestic production.

Country-Wise Taiwan Flat Steel Exports in May’18- Taiwan flat steel majorly exports flat steel to Vietnam.In May’18 nation has exported 0.16 MnT twice the volumes which was imported in Apr’18.In Apr’18 the nation exported 0.08 MnT of flat steel to Vietnam.
Second major importer was China which stood at 0.10 MnT in May’18, moved up significantly by 25% against 0.08 MnT in Apr’18.
Meanwhile Japan also exported 0.09 MnT and Malaysia imported 0.07 MnT which remain unchanged in Apr’18 and May’18.
Other major importers were USA at 0.06 MnT ,followed by Spain at 0.02 MnT and Belguim at 0.05 MnT in May’18.
