Against all the market expectations that Asian steel companies will not be in a position to hike prices in the current quarter, South Korean steel giant Posco has gone ahead and announced that they will increase the prices across the various product categories.* by 16-18% w.e.f. 22nd April. The recent raise in the prices of raw material had made the price hike inevitable for the company. With Japan not exporting as much steel as before has also helped the company to go for a price hike.
