US Pig iron imports recorded at 395,636 MT in April 2018, the fresh released data by US custom showed.
The imports by the nation recorded a decline of 8.95% M-o-M against 434,551 MT in Mar’18. During Apr’18, Russia has exported approximately 45% Pig Iron (177,358 MT) to the nation which was slump by 25% M-o-M.
Further on yearly basis, Pig iron imports decline by 19.19% in Apr’18 as against 489,633 MT in Apr’17
In CY18 (Jan-Apr), the nation has imported about 1,728,089 MT Pig Iron; surge by 9.46% as compared to 1,578,735 MT in the same preceding last year. Russia, Ukraine & Brazil was the major Pig Iron exporter to United States which exported about 871,749 MT (50.45%), 485,367 MT (28.09%) & 264,552 MT (15.31%), respectively.
As per the SteelMint analysis, in the month of Apr’18, the crude steel production of United States was around 6,930,000 MT, decline by 4.55% M-o-M against 7,261,000 MT in Mar’18 and in CY18 (Jan-Apr) it was approximately 34,566,000 MT, surge by 28.230% against 26,956,000 MnT in CY17 (Jan-Apr)
Presently, the export offers of basic grade Pig Iron are assessed at USD 380-390/MT FoB Black Sea, USD 380-385/MT FoB Brazil & USD 380-390/MT FoB India.
