South Korea, the world’s 5th largest steel producer has reported down fall in its Finish long steel exports and as per data available with SteelMint.
As per custom data, the nation has exported about 0.22 MnT Finish long steel in May’18, down about 12% (30,000 MT) M-o-M against Apr’18.
Out of total Finish Long exports in May’18, exports to Japan registered high at 0.03 MnT followed by Vietnam, Malaysia, Canada & Australia registered 0.02 MnT each respectively which is stable on monthly basis except Canada which is down by around 33.34%.

Coming to total exports in CY 2018 (Jan-May), the nation has exported about 1.09 MnT; up by around 9% compared to 1 MnT in the same preceding last year. In line on yearly basis in May’18 exports of the nation incline by 10% against 0.2 MnT in May’17.
Sub-Commodity Wise under Finish Long commodities following HS Codes has been considered – Bar & Rod (HS Code 7213 & 7214), Angle & Shapes (HS Code 7215 & 7216) & MS Wire (HS Code 7217).
Structure have contributed the major exports proportionate and registered at 0.12 MnT in May’18 against 0.14 MnT in Apr’18 down by 14.28% followed by Rebar 0.08 MnT in May’18 which is stable m-o-m basis and remaining MS Wire registered at 0.02 MnT in May’18 against 0.03 MnT in Apr’18 down by 33.34%.
