According to the Brazilian customs, the country has witnessed a rise of 8% M-o-M in its Manganese Ore exports.
Brazilian Manganese Ore export in May’18 was at 0.14 MnT against 0.13 MnT in Apr’18. However, on yearly basis, Brazilian Manganese Ore exports reflected no change as it was 0.14 MnT in May’17 as well.
China’s Appetite for Brazilian Manganese Ore
China remains the largest importer of Brazilian Manganese Ore in May’18 at 0.08 MnT witnessing a fall of 20% M-o-M against 0.10 MnT in Apr’18. Uruguay on the other hand witness a whopping rise of 100% M-o-M, however importing only 0.06 MnT in May’18 against 0.03 MnT in Apr’18 followed by many others.
A decrease in Manganese Ore imports by China can be attributed to the declining manganese alloy market in the region which led to piling up of ores on Chinese ports.
