Australia : Newcastle Port Shipment slipped by 23.1% W-o-W (as on 5 Aug)

Newcastle port has reported that their last week which ended on 5th Aug '13, shipment has dropped by almost 23.1% as compared to preceding week which ended on 29th July '13. This week (upto 5th Aug) port has shipped around 2.2 MnT of coal.

For the month of August 2013 port's forecast has also dropped by 10.4% and is expecting 11.4 MnT of coal including coking and thermal coal to be exported.

Whereas, as per port authority actual shipment for this month plus projected balance from coal terminal would be around 12 MnT of coal this month.

Port has also reported that during last week which ended on 5th August 2013, 33 vessels entered at port for loading with an average waiting time of 6.96 days. Whereas, just preceding week 36 vessels entered at port with an average waiting time of 4.14 days. 

At the week ended on 5 July, the port had 7 vessels loading coal at port, 11 vessels were waiting to load and 37 vessels were expected to reach at port.
