Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) is hopeful of achieving a growth of 70% in steel production in current financial year (FY’19), starting April 1, 2018 and ending March 31, 2019. The Company has an existing capacity of 10.6 MnT, out of which 8.6 MnT installed in India and 2 MnT in Oman.
In recent investors conference call, JSPL mentioned that company is aiming to achieve 9.5 MnT production from India and overseas plant against consolidated production of 5.7 MnT in FY18. Out of 9.5 MnT, 7 MnT crude steel production is expected from Indian operation and remaining will come from Oman operations.
The sharp increase in company’s steel production will be contributed from Angul plant, which is one of the largest blast furnace in India. Angul capacity is close to about 5 MnT which is expected to come in full production by the end of FY’19. The Company has fired its furnace in last week of May 2018.
JSPL-Oman plant produced about 1.67 MnT in FY18 and is expected to produce 2 MnT in FY19.
