According to the latest customs data, Japan flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates), 7209 (CR coils),7225 (Electrical sheets), 7210/7212(GP/GC) moved up by 13% on monthly basis in Apr’18.
Nation’s flat steel imports stood at 0.35 MnT in Apr’18 against 0.31 MnT in Mar’18.
On yearly basis the same reported marginal decline by 3% in Apr’18 against 0.36 MnT in preceding year.
During first four month of CY18 (Jan-Apr) nation’s flat steel imports stood a 1.35 MnT decreases by 9.3% against 1.49 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.

Country-Wise Japan Flat Steel imports in Apr’18- In Apr’18,South Korea was the major flat steel exporter to Japan and has exported 0.23 MnT higher by 10% against 0.21 MnT in Mar’18.
Second largest exporter was Taiwan exported around 0.07 MnT of flat steel in Apr’18.
In the month of Apr’18 Taiwan exported 0.07 MnT flat steel for Japan unchanged against previous month.Lastly, China exported 0.05 MnT to Japan in Apr’18, higher by 67% against 0.03 MnT in previous month.
