Russian steelmakers exported 1.58 MnT of billets & reported all time high level during the third month of CY18, registering a 36.20% incline compared with February 2018, Russian customs.
As per the data compiled by SteelMint it was noticed that the nation has recorded all-time high billet export since 2014.
The export volume for Russia in Mar’17 was at 1.41 MnT, rise by 12.05% year-on-year in Mar’18.
In Mar’18, the billet exports from Russia to Taiwan incline by 0.21 MnT on monthly basis against 0.25 MnT in Feb’18. Inline billet exports to Turkey also gain momentum & stood at 0.30 MnT in Mar’18, surge by 172% M-o-M.
Taiwan has imported approximately 29.11% (0.46 MnT) billet from Russia and maintains the top number in March 2018, followed by Turkey (18.98%) & Mexico (13.29%). Taiwan imported around 23.38% of the total billet exported by Russia in the first three months of CY18 (Jan-Mar).
In context to export prices, the export offers of 150*150 IS 2830 grade billet are currently at USD 525-535/MT FoB India, 125*125 3SP at USD 510-520/MT FoB Ukraine & 125*125 are at USD 525-530/MT CNF Turkey.
— Russia’s iron ore exports recorded at 1.48 MnT, down slightly as compared to Feb’18 exports at 1.52 MnT
— Russia exported 404,273 MT ferrous scrap in Mar’18 as against 328,607 MT exports recorded in Feb’18, surge by 23% M-o-M.
— In the month of March 2018, the crude steel production of Russia was around 5.7 MnT and in CY18 (Jan-Mar) it was approximately 16.55 MnT. Meanwhile, in CY17 the figure of crude steel production stood at 70.85 MnT, & 70.84 MnT in CY16.
