South Korea, the world’s 5th largest steel producer has reported continuous rise in its Finish long steel exports and as per data available with SteelMint, exports boost to 21 month high in Apr 2018; the same figures were last seen during June 2016.
As per custom data, the nation has exported about 0.25 MnT Finish long steel in Apr’18, surge about 19% (40,000 MT) M-o-M against Mar’18 and stood high since June 2016 at 0.25 MnT.
Out of total Finish Long exports in Apr’18, exports to Canada registered high at 0.03 MnT followed by Japan & Vietnam 0.02 MnT each respectively which is stable on monthly basis.
Coming to total exports in CY 2018 (Jan-Apr), the nation has exported about 0.87 MnT; up by around 9% as compared to 0.8 MnT in the same preceding last year. In line on yearly basis in Apr’18 exports of the nation incline by 25% against 0.2 MnT in Apr’17.
In CY 18 (Jan-Apr) – Canada, Japan, Vietnam & India was the major importer from South Korea which imported about 0.03 MnT (12%) & 0.2 MnT (8%) each respectively.
Sub-Commodity Wise Under Finish Long commodities following HS Codes has been considered – Bar & Rod (HS Code 7213 & 7214), Angle & Shapes (HS Code 7215 & 7216) & MS Wire (HS Code 7217).
