Domestic pellet prices in India have remained majorly stable this week observing the slight decline of INR 50-100/MT in eastern India while offers have remained stable in western, central and southern India.
In Durgapur (eastern India) reference pellet price assessment stands at INR 5,800/MT (delivered) this week. Pellet prices in Durgapur have come down by INR 100/MT W-o-W. Trade sources reported improved trade activities this week against last week. P-DRI prices assessment INR 20,300/MT this week against INR 20,100/MT (delivered) last week’s.
Central India based market participant’s shared dull buying interest in pellets. SteelMint’s Reference pellet price assessment in Raipur is heard around INR 5,700-5,800/MT(Basic, GST extra). P-DRI prices have remains stable to INR 19,700/MT (ex-Raipur) against INR 19,600/MT a week ago.
Southern India Pellets Prices supported amid Increasing Sponge Prices-:
Southern India based pellet makers have stable offers amid moderate demand in the region. P-DRI price assessment increased by INR500/MT to INR 19,400/MT against INR 18,900/MT last week assessment.
Indian Pellet Market update: Week 21, 2018
1. Barbil (Odisha) based merchant pellet manufacturer – Arya Iron and steel in the eastern region with an annual capacity of 1.2 MnT is not offering pellets this week. Jindal Steel & Power pellet offers are at INR 5,500/MT (loaded to wagons).
2. In Southern India, Bellary based Pellet makers concluded 10,000 MT pellets deal at INR 6600/MT.
