India: Odisha Domestic Iron Ore Dispatches fall 10% in Apr’18

Odisha – India’s largest iron ore producing state recorded 10% decrease in iron ore dispatches in Apr’18 to 5.28 MnT as against 5.87 MnT in Mar’18. The figures exclude movement for export and dispatches of captive miner- SAIL & Tata Steel.

On yearly basis, Odisha dispatches witnessed decline of 8% in Apr’18 as against 5.66 MnT in Apr’17.

Rungta Mines iron ore dispatches stable on monthly basis

Amongst Odisha’s merchant iron ore mines – Rungta Mines dispatched the highest quantity of iron ore at 1.64 MnT in Apr’18, followed by Serajuddin at 0.63 MnT (up by 31% M-o-M), KJS Ahluwalia 0.52 MnT (down 30%) and Kaypee Enterprises at 0.42 MnT (up marginally M-o-M).

Rungta Mines – India’s largest private merchant miner, dispatch in Apr’18 stood in line with Mar’18 dispatches at 1.68 MnT.

Serajuddin mines stood second largest, and recorded 31% increase in Apr’18 dispatches as against 0.48 MnT in Mar’18.

Dispatches from Serajuddin and Essel mining has depicted a significant rise in past two months due to resumption of operations after being closed for about two months. Besides, RP Sao has resumed operations after a gap of 6 years, which is expected to bring further supply enhancement.

Dispatches of iron ore from KJS Ahluwalia has declined by 30% M-o-M in Apr’18 compared to 0.73 MnT in Mar’17.

Iron ore dispatches from OMC drop 17% M-o-M

OMC, state-owned miner recorded dispatches at 0.61 MnT in Apr’18, depicting fall of 17% as against 0.73 MnT in Mar’18.
