Three Coal blocks in Chhattisgarh gets approval by Union Environment Ministry

Union Environment Ministry has given clearance to three coal blocks in Chhattisgarh Hasdev, Arnd, Forest area Out of these four coal blocks, two are allowed for mining & one is allowed for prospecting. Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, Union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh have also given their approval.

The approval by the Chhattisgarh government is likely to benefit the power & coal palnts in Rajasthan. Energy Secretary Mr.Aman Singh also said that the four coal blocks of Surguja district, Tara coal, Parsa, Parsa & Kantebsan got the clearance by the Ministry of Environment.

The Union Ministry of Environment had previously place the Hasdev Arand area’s 18 coal blocks into ‘No go area’ that created a tussle between the central and state government from past 3 years. So, now

After the recent approval for three coal blocks, the state Government is now expected to build pressure on the Central Government to give clearances to the rest now 14 coal blocks in Hasdev Arnd area as a power plant nearing the amount of Rs 95 thousand crore has been pending in the state due to the forest clearance issues.
